Automated Systems (HK) Limited was founded in Hong Kong in 1973 and was listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited under the name of Automated Systems Holdings Limited (“The ASL Group” or “the Group”) (Stock Code: 771) in November 1997. The ASL Group's ultimate controlling shareholder is Beijing Teamsun Technology Co., Ltd. (“Beijing Teamsun”) whose shares are listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 600410).

The ASL Group, consisting of Automated Systems (HK) Limited, ELM Computer Technologies Limited, CSA Automated (Macau) Ltd., Taiwan Automated Systems Ltd., Guangzhou Automated Systems Limited and ASL Automated (Thailand) Ltd., offers professional information technology services to corporate clients in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Mainland China and Thailand. For the year ended March 31, 2009, the ASL Group reported a turnover of HK$1,442.0 million.

Application development is tailored to each customer’s special needs and IT environment with individual unique features. There is development of turnkey solutions or software customization for various operating platforms.

Consultancy provides independent assessment and implementation advice to a company’s internal applications, systems and networks, and proposes suitable solutions with market proven methods and tools to enable better management of all applications, systems and networks.

Digital imaging converts documents of all kinds from hardcopies into electronic files by using advanced imaging technologies and equipment. Systematic operation processes are undertaken for the conversion, including warehousing, classification, scanning, quality control, re-assembly, indexing, filing, storage and retrieval.

Help desk serves as a centralized service-call operation with advanced monitoring system to effectively handle customers’ enquiries on all technical issues.

Maintenance support is provided to enterprises of every type and size by certified and experienced engineers with guaranteed fast response time, flexible service coverage, ample supply of spare parts, broad level of service and remedial software support.

Multi-vendor support helps manage customer’s wide range of IT systems of hardware and software products in different brands, from personal computers to high-end servers, and from operating systems to application software.

Outsourcing provides cost-effective programs of works that uniquely tailored to help customers manage business issues and achieve optimal business results. It offers updated technologies, advanced computing tools, flexible service package, prompt replacement of absent outsourcing staff and temporary headcount fulfilment for unplanned projects.

Regional support is available to customers by leveraging resources of the regional service centers and offices which provide a full geographical coverage of standardized services, IT resources, and localized maintenance support.

Systems integration comprises building architecture, testing and implementing a full application-ready distributed computing platform and integrating it into the customers’ existing IT infrastructure. The process also involves project evaluation and planning, systems design and development, as well as integration and deployment.

Systems relocation is to relocate a company’s computing resources from the current site to a new site within a scheduled time frame while ensuring minimal system downtime. A complete process involves relocation planning, site audit, rack design, systems disconnection, connection, testing & implementation, transportation & insurance arrangement, contingency plan, and liaison with third-party vendors.

Training service offers a full range of on-site and off-site IT courses for customers to choose, including customized courses on various technology areas. The programs provide skill-building training for enterprise-wide personnel and system administrators to manage their IT infrastructure.

• The ASL Group has serviced more than 100 government departments since 1970s and has provided and installed over thousands of computer systems, networks, and software applications for various government departments. It has also offered IT outsourcing service to the government, including data conversion of over 3.5 million plans for the Land Registry; and application maintenance and related support services for the information systems of Customs and Excise Department, Department of Health and Highways Department.

• The ASL Group maintains a strong customer base in the education sector in Hong Kong. Comprehensive administrative and academic computing solutions and services provided by the Group are deployed in many leading Asian universities and most local primary and secondary schools, such as the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the City University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Macau, Salesian English School, and True Light Primary School.

• The ASL Group has provided numerous computer systems to various public organizations including Hong Kong Housing Society, CLP Power HK Ltd., China Gas Company and Hong Kong Jockey Club. Implemented system, such as the Electronic Data Interchange System for Hospital Authority, has facilitated inter-departmental information exchange in various hospitals and raised the quality of medical service to the community.
