Conformance to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard
In mid 1990s, ASL has commenced to provide its services in line with the best international standards with most of the processes have received the accreditation of the ISO 9001 certification from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) since April 1999. Our business application development process was also accredited with the additional requirements of ISO 90003:2004 certification scheme and ASL is among the very few IT companies in Hong Kong who has been certified by HKQAA according to the standard of ISO 90003:2004, the guideline on software development. The certification proves our quality of work on software development projects is recognized to meet the international standard.

CMMI® for
Development - Maturity Level 3
Commencing to the reference of the CMMI model on the development processes since 2003, our Business Application Development teams have also attained Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 Rating for its systems and software engineering process in the appraisal of Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) in 2005. In December 2008, they successfully completed the reassessment on CMMI by satisfying all the Process Areas and achieved Maturity Level 3 in the CMMI® for Development Version 1.2 (an updated version announced in 2006). CMMI® for Development consists of best practices that address development and maintenance activities applied to products and services. Recognized as the industry best process improvement model, the CMMI framework aligns management and engineering activities to business objectives, helping organizations to achieve increased product and service quality as well as improved productivity and ROI.
The achievement of this prestigious rating has proved our continued effort to pursue higher service quality and deliver world-class IT solutions and services to customers using proven process. With an organizational institutionalized process established following the CMMI disciplines, we can ensure customers that consistent quality standard is achieved across different software development projects. Customers can fully rely on us to develop and operate systems with predictable and improved cost, schedule and quality.
CMMI is a defined best practice model for developing and improving organization's standard processes. CMMI is defined by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, USA and jointly developed by organizations from industry, government and SEI which develops and advocated practices improve all aspects of IT system and software engineering. The CMMI project work is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense.
The continual achievement in CMMI proves ASL's commitment in quality and service improvement and also demonstrates the company's dedicated effort in achieving excellence in business and quality.
Our Future Plans
With the achievement of the ISO20000 certification on our internal processes, we shall establish our own process models with reference to our certifications to tailor to our clients. By adopting the best practices and standards, ASL is committed to assure the best quality of services on our IT services and products provided to our clients through the adoption of the best practices and processes so as to meet their business objectives. We are also preparing to adopt the ISO9001 Quality Management standard in managing our Outsourcing Development and Excellence Centre to provide the effective and efficient solutions are provided to our clients at their best values.
